AWS SAR cost saving tips Optimize your AWS SAR costs with these tips
Avoid duplicating development efforts by reusing applications from the Serverless Application Repository. This reduces costs associated with repeated development and testing of common functionality.
Leverage Open Source
Save resources by building upon open-source applications shared by the community instead of re-implementing common utilities and services. This enables a focus on custom business logic.
Review Deployed Apps
Regularly review and remove unused applications to avoid unnecessary costs. The Serverless Application Repository charges for underlying AWS resources used, not for hosting or accessing apps.

As a CTO at various start-ups and scale-ups, I've seen too often how AWS costs can sneak up on you. It used to be something we'd only think about when there was a problem—either it wasn't working like we needed it to, or the expenses were through the roof. I took my know-how in AWS and made it my goal to change that. Now, I use a simple rule to make a big impact: focus on the few changes that make the biggest difference in cutting costs.
I look at your AWS bills with a fine-tooth comb and find where you can save money without losing performance. It's about being smart with your resources and making sure AWS works for you, not against you. By doing this, I help your teams do more with less, and make sure we keep your cloud spending in check.

About AWS SAR
The AWS Serverless Application Repository facilitates the storage and sharing of reusable apps. It streamlines the deployment process of serverless architectures, allowing developers to use pre-built apps, eliminating the need for cloning and packaging. The repository offers enhanced control over apps through AWS Identity and Access Management and allows public or selective sharing. Apps come with AWS Serverless Application Model templates and charges apply only for AWS resources used.
AWS SAR pricing
The AWS Serverless Application Repository provides applications at no charge. However, standard AWS rates are applicable to the resources employed by the deployed applications. AWS apps are under the MIT open source license, and third-party apps can be available under one or more open source licenses approved by the Open Source Initiative. Developers can earn money for their serverless apps by integrating AWS Lambda with Amazon API Gateway and selling the API as SaaS via the AWS Marketplace.
