AWS Data Exchange cost saving tips Optimize your AWS Data Exchange costs with these tips

#1

Cancel Unused Subscriptions

You are charged for active subscriptions in AWS Data Exchange. Regularly review and cancel ones that are not in use to reduce costs.

#2

Opt for Pay-as-you-go

Instead of subscription-based pricing, consider pay-as-you-go models that align with your usage. This can be more cost-effective.

#3

Use Optimal Data Transfers

Use private endpoints for S3 access within regions to avoid internet egress fees. It's a cost-efficient data transfer technique.

About Alex I am your AWS cost saving guru, ready to slash your AWS costs!

As a CTO at various start-ups and scale-ups, I've seen too often how AWS costs can sneak up on you. It used to be something we'd only think about when there was a problem—either it wasn't working like we needed it to, or the expenses were through the roof. I took my know-how in AWS and made it my goal to change that. Now, I use a simple rule to make a big impact: focus on the few changes that make the biggest difference in cutting costs.

I look at your AWS bills with a fine-tooth comb and find where you can save money without losing performance. It's about being smart with your resources and making sure AWS works for you, not against you. By doing this, I help your teams do more with less, and make sure we keep your cloud spending in check.

AWS Data Exchange pricing

AWS Data Exchange charges separately for providers and subscribers. Subscription costs depend on the model and may include monthly pay-as-you-go charges. Standard S3 rates apply to data transfer, potentially adding costs for storage and analysis. Providers face tiered costs based on Byte-Hours for fulfillment and storage. Additional charges may incur from Amazon Redshift, API Gateway, and S3 usage. Direct access to S3 objects without AWS Data Exchange may also cost depending on your settings.
